The Bosio family vineyards were founded in 1967 by Egidio and Angela Bosio. Their son Valter took over in time, and he is now joined by his son, a trained oenologist, Luca. They have 20 hectares planted in Santo Stefano Bebo in the Asti region, but also make wine from a further 200 or so hectares in the village. In 2015 the family purchased the Verduno estate of Bel Colle, which will continue to be run and marketed as a separate entity. Luca makes a wide range of good value wines marketed under the Bosio Family Estates brand, along with wines from their own holdings under his own name.

Winemaking

Hand harvested grapes from Verduno are destemmed and fermented in vat over 24 days. Aged in large old oak casks for 36 months.

Tasting Note

Sweet nose of black fruits and warm earth. The palate is ripe and rich with dark fruits, tea and floral notes. Full but ripe tannins frame the finish.

Food Matching

Robust red meat and game dishes
