2021 Vosne-Romanée, Marchand-Tawse

Just three barrels were produced instead of the average production of ten barrels. 100% destemmed, 33% new oak. 2021 is primarily a blend of Hautes Mazières, Jacquines, and La Croix Blanche. These relatively unknown lieux-dit sites are nestled in amongst some of the most expensive vineyards in the world, at the border with Echézeaux and Clos Vougeot. The nose is complex at this level, with raspberries, Asian spices, and orange rind. The palate is initially supple and inviting, with velvety tannins and a lovely purity of sappy but spicy Vosne fruit
