Winemaking - El Petit Carlania is a red wine made in the D.O. Conca de Barbera by Celler Carlania in Barberà de la Conca, Tarragona. Celler Carlania was founded in 2007, starting their activity in Celler de Viveristes, and finally creating their own winery in 2009 in the area of Las Eras, in the same town of Barberà de la Conca. The vineyards are cultivated ecologically and one of their main objectives is to cultivate the Trepat variety. El Petit Carlania comes from the Finca els Corrals, a 50 year old vineyard planted with the Trepat variety. The grape is harvested manually in 20 kg boxes. It ferments and macerates with its own skins for 15 days, it is then pressed and aged for 3 months in used oak barrels
What it tastes like - El Petit Carlania is a fruity red wine with high acidity. A good interpretation of the Trepat grape.
