Ledaig 16-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (Single Cask)

We first tasted this cask back in 2014 when it was still a youngster. Even then, we knew it was special. The light, bright smoke doesn’t suffocate at all thanks in big part to the shape of the Tobermory stills, which maximise reflux to keep the bassier phenols in the pot. The end result is pure liquid symphony – a holistic dram that revitalises your core like a deep breath of salty sea air – and proof that you don’t need to be a masochist to enjoy a bit of peat.

COLOUR - Natural, pale gold

NOSE - Maple-cured bacon, iodine, shortbread

PALATE - Lemon drizzle cake, muscovado, smoked vanilla

FINISH - Dark chocolate, seaweed
