Caol Ila, 12 Year Old 43% 70cl

With a relatively large output, Caol Ila is often labelled the workhorse distillery of Islay. For decades it has been an integral component of the Johnnie Walker blends, but also has a reputation as one of the most consistently high quality single malts available.

The 12 year old is their core release, and serves as an excellent introduction to what the distillery does so well. A fresh, citrussy spirit with a gentle sweet smokiness.

Tasting Notes

Nose – Citrus fruit, aromatic bath oil, minty notes, lychee, almond and some oiliness. A little smokiness.

Palate – Light, fragrant smokiness, a dash of saltiness and some sweet notes.
