Saumur-Champigny, Maison Audebert & Fils, Loire Valley, France 2022

From 6 ha of clay-limestone vineyards on the south bank of the Loire and 30 year old Cabernet Franc vines. Fresh, simple, classic Saumur Champigny, fermented in tank with a floating cap and macerated for 2 weeks, with malolactic fermentation carried out after racking, with ageing in barriques for 3 months. Bright red fruit in character, with crunchy acidity and a balancing ripeness and silky tannins.
